Good evening,
Eugene’s police chief, Chris Skinner, called a press conference today following a body-cam video being made public over the weekend in which a Eugene police officer makes “racist and deeply offensive” remarks. Skinner identified the officer as Martin Siller, who worked for Eugene police for seven years and before that was a police officer in Utah for 20 years. Jaime Adame was at the news conference.
Former Ducks football standout Kayvon Thibodeaux, who now plays for the New York Giants, is touring universities to share tips on how student-athletes can be financially savvy in an era where they can make significant amounts of money. He stopped by his alma mater, and Sarah Lorge Butler sat down with him for a quick Q&A.
A 62-year-old Eugene man, Richard Delbert Hemminger, was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash Saturday at the Interstate 5 and Highway 58 interchange, police said. Jaime Adame has the story.
A missing 22-year-old man was found dead over the weekend near Lookout Point Lake, east of Lowell. Tyler Ryan Davis was a senior at the University of Oregon. Sheriff’s officials said there was no evidence of a crime. Jaime Adame reports.
