Eugene Water & Electric Board’s effectiveness depends not just on technical knowledge but on values. That’s why I’m proud to support Alexi Miller for EWEB commissioner, and we are so lucky to have a candidate who embodies both!

Public utilities like EWEB sit at the intersection of climate action, economic justice and public accountability. The decisions made at that table shape whether we meaningfully transition off fossil fuels, whether working families can afford their bills and whether we invest in infrastructure that actually serves the full community, and not just those with the most resources or loudest voices.

Miller has a clear understanding that utility governance must be both ambitious and grounded. He brings a commitment to accelerating clean energy, expanding equitable rate design and ensuring that frontline communities are not left behind in the transition. Just as importantly, they recognize that transparency and public trust aren’t optional, they’re the foundation of good governance.

The most effective commissioners are the ones who do the work: who ask hard questions, who push for better outcomes and who stay accountable to the public. Miller has the judgment and values to be exactly that kind of commissioner.

Eugene has an opportunity to lead on climate and equity through our public utility. We should elect someone ready to meet that moment. I strongly support Alexi Miller for EWEB commissioner and hope you will join me in voting for Miller by May 19!
