Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Styr Kitchen Llc at 150 28th St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on May 10. The restaurant scored 92 out of 100. Inspectors found employee drinks stored above food, risking contamination, but this was fixed during the visit. A spray bottle with toxic chemicals was unlabeled, but labels were added immediately. The freezer and refrigerator door seals are damaged and need repair. Outdoor trash dumpsters were left open and must be kept closed at all times. Lastly, a wall near the handwashing area is deteriorating and requires repair. Overall, the restaurant addressed the immediate safety issues but needs to fix equipment and facility maintenance problems. (view report)

  • A hit and run arrest happened near 2490 Shadylane Dr, Springfield at 6 p.m. on May 25.
     
  • A theft from a vehicle was reported near 1460 G St., Springfield at 5 p.m. on May 25.
     
  • There was an illegal fire reported near the 3200 block of Partridge Way at 3 p.m. on May 25.
     
  • A violation of a stalking order happened near the 1500 block of Concord Ave. at 3 p.m. on May 25.
     
  • A report of suspicious activity was made near 750 S 28th St., Springfield on May 25 at 3 p.m.
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • Long-term projects: Construction is happening on 36th Street between Main Street and Commercial Avenue as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Work started the week of April 27 and is expected to finish by September 30. Local residents can still get to their homes, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures and no parking zones. You may notice changes to travel routes, construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Advance notice will be given before any closures. Construction will also take place on Aspen Street between Centennial Boulevard and Tamarack Street starting the week of June 15. Most work should be done by September 4, with the whole project finished by October 31. Local access to homes will be maintained, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures and no parking zones. Expect changes to travel routes, construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Advance notice will be given before any closures.
