Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Hawaiian Island Grill at 1661 Mohawk Blvd. was cited for issues during a county health inspection on July 30. The restaurant received a score of 97 out of 100. The inspector noted that a handwashing sink had been removed from the food preparation and dishwashing area, which is required for employees to wash their hands conveniently. The restaurant was instructed to immediately install a handwashing sink in these areas and prepare a plan to ensure employees wash their hands before handling food or clean dishes. During a follow-up inspection on 7-31-2026, the issue was corrected with an approved handwashing sink now in place. (view report)

  • Coburg Pizza Company Centennial at 1710 Centennial Blvd. was cited for issues during a county health inspection on July 30. The restaurant scored 94 out of 100. Inspectors found employee drinks stored improperly near food and some beverage containers without lids or straws, which was corrected immediately. Toxic chemical containers were not clearly labeled but were addressed during the visit. Some refrigerators lacked proper thermometers, which need to be installed. Several food containers were cracked or damaged and must be replaced. Food debris was found on floors under equipment, requiring more frequent cleaning. Lastly, flooring, walls, and countertops showed damage and need repairs to maintain good facility conditions. (view report)
