Springfield police continue to investigate a report of a shooting Saturday, Aug. 8, in a residential area about a block north of Highway 126 and less than a mile west of 19th Street.

Officers were dispatched at about 10:45 p.m. to the intersection of Debra Drive and R Street.

“I can confirm there was a shooting incident,” Lt. Justin Myers said in an email Thursday. “The case is currently under investigation by SPD and will be reviewed by the Lane County District Attorney’s Office.”

Myers said “there is no threat to the community.” No arrests have been made, Myers said.

In response to a question about possible injuries from the shooting, Myers declined to comment “given the status of the case.”
