Community crime report

• A hit-and-run was reported near W 28th Ave. and Almaden St. in Eugene at 1 p.m. on Sept. 3.
   
• A report of stolen property was taken near 2 Westbrook Way in Eugene at 9 p.m. on Sept. 3.

Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

• Long-term projects: – Construction is happening near 18th and Hilyard Street during the week of August 31. Lanes may be reduced to one, so expect some delays. Pedestrians should follow detours around closed ramps, and workers will be available to help.
• Construction is taking place in the parking lot at Willamette Street and W 52nd Avenue during the week of August 31. There will be heavy equipment moving in and out, so drive carefully and watch for construction signs.
• From Monday, August 31 to today, construction at W 30th Avenue and Portland Street is causing moderate impacts. Parking is closed on the west side of Portland Street from W 30th Avenue to W 29th Place, and some parking north of W 29th Place to W 28th Avenue is also closed. Pedestrian access on the west side of Portland Street between W 30th Avenue and W 29th Place is closed. Pedestrians should use the temporary ADA ramp and sidewalk on the east side of Portland Street.
• On Saturday, August 29, paving was completed on the east half of McLean Blvd. On September 1 and 2, workers adjusted manholes in the road. During paving, two detours were in place: one rerouted traffic before Graham Drive through Lasater, Randy, and 29th streets back to McKendrick Street and McLean Blvd; the other detoured traffic from Graham Drive to Chambers Street via 28th Street. Detours will be removed after the work is finished.
• Construction is happening on Vine Maple Street, Spring Boulevard, Pine Canyon Drive, Huckleberry Street, and South Ridge Drive, including nearby sidewalks, during the week of August 31. Expect moderate delays as roads may be reduced to one lane or temporarily closed.
• During the week of August 31, crews are working on paving and finishing touches in several areas: Hilyard Street from 40th to 34th Avenue, Friendly Street and the 18th Avenue area, 24th Avenue from Hilyard to Agate, and Alder Street from 30th to 32nd. The project is nearly complete.
• Construction is taking place at South Eugene High School during the week of August 31 to rehabilitate a 100-year-old wastewater pipe. Some sidewalks, parking spaces, and lawn areas on campus may be closed. Eastbound traffic on E 19th Avenue near Mill Street may be closed, with a detour to E 18th Avenue.
