Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Amore Italian Bakery & Bistro at 2108 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on May 4. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. Inspectors found employee drinks stored improperly in food prep areas and reminded staff to use covered containers with lids and straws. Some food containers were unlabeled and need clear identification. Wiping cloths must be stored in proper sanitizer at correct concentrations. Utensil handles were found touching food and must be kept above it. Equipment, such as a defrost drip tray, was leaking and needs repair. Ceiling insulation was exposed and must be replaced with smooth, cleanable surfaces. Minor chipped paint, floor damage, and an unsealed sink cupboard also require fixing. All issues were addressed or noted for correction. (view report)
