Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Mckenzie River Taphouse at 5818 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on March 2. The restaurant received a score of 97 out of 100. The inspector noted that the restaurant did not have a working thermometer to check food temperatures, which is essential for food safety. The restaurant was required to immediately provide a proper metal-stemmed thermometer suitable for measuring internal temperatures, especially for thin foods like meat patties and fish filets. This issue was resolved after the restaurant obtained an approved food probe thermometer, confirmed through a remote reinspection. (view report)
