Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- Time Out Tavern LLC at 5256 Main St. was cited for issues during a county health inspection on Sept. 23. The restaurant scored 82 out of 100. Major issues included unsafe walk-in refrigerator temperatures (52-57°F instead of below 41°F), expired ready-to-eat foods kept for over 7 days, and improper disposal of mop water outside the sewer system. Other problems were gaps in walls allowing pests, lack of sanitizer in wiping cloth buckets, unfinished surfaces in food prep areas, missing sanitizer test kits (corrected during inspection), no designated mop sink, inadequate lighting in the walk-in fridge, damaged ceiling areas, and no covered waste bin in the women’s restroom. All critical issues were addressed or discussed during the inspection. (view report)
