PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Hospice will hold its annual “Light Up a Life” ceremony to remember loved ones Dec. 14, and the deadline to submit names for the event is Monday, Dec. 1.

For 39 years, the hospice has remembered loved ones with gifts of light on a Christmas tree, PeaceHealth said in a press release.

This year’s ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, in the lobby of PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, 3333 Riverbend Drive in Springfield.

The ceremony — open to anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one — will include poetry, music, the reading of names and lighting the dedicated tree in the hospital lobby.

People who would like their loved one’s name to be read during the ceremony are asked to email the name by Dec. 1 to SacredHeartHospiceGrief@peacehealth.org or call the hospice bereavement team at 458-205-7489. Please provide your name, contact information, the name of your loved ones and correct pronunciation.
