Lane County Commissioner Ryan Ceniga has been an innovative leader who has used tax dollars wisely to improve the county. Voters should reelect Ceniga so he can keep exercising responsible spending and looking out for county constituents’ concerns.

For example, commissioners were strongly considering putting a roundabout at the intersection of Territorial Highway and Ferguson Road in north Lane County. It would have cost taxpayers and Lane County about a million dollars, and negatively impacted agricultural residents by making it difficult for local farmers to get their harvests out by trucks.

Ceniga responded to county residents by sending engineers to evaluate the project. The intersection was redesigned in a way that solved the safety concerns and farmers’ concerns without a new, expensive roundabout. He also saved tax dollars by proposing to fix, instead of replace, a bridge just south of that intersection.

Ceniga needs to be reelected to continue his wise use of tax dollars and to be innovative in solving the county’s problems.
