Thank you so much for your article on birthright citizenship. I’m a third-generation Mexican American in the United States, and my heart is breaking right now watching the targeting of immigrant communities. Very specifically, the aggressive targeting of Latino immigrants.

Thank you for writing about this in a way that does not soften the language of what is happening. I think trying to use “gentler” terms is an attempt to normalize the cruelty and crimes against humanity that are now being perpetuated by the federal government.
