Dick’s House of Sport, billed as an immersive sports shopping experience, is coming to the Valley River Center. ​

While Eugene already has a Dick’s Sporting Goods store at the Delta Oaks shopping area, Dick’s House of Sport is different. A press release from Valley River Center said the approximately 100,000-square-foot, two-level store will offer various in-house athletic activities, including a climbing wall, an outdoor field, golf simulators, and a batting cage simulator.

Beyond in-store experiences, Dick’s House of Sport hosts local community events, such as sports clinics. 

“We are so excited to announce the upcoming addition of DICK’S House of Sport,” said Melissa Freas, a senior vice president of leasing at Macerich, which owns the Eugene mall. “For nearly 60 years, Valley River Center has been at the heart of Eugene, and we’re proud to continue building on that legacy, bringing new energy, new experiences, and more memories for our community.”

The store will be on the northeast side of the mall, with site work beginning in the spring and an opening in 2028.
