I would like to voice my support for David Loveall. I’m a husband, the mayor of Creswell, a father, coach and small-business owner in Springfield who relies on quality effort and decision-making to support the growth of my business.

Time and time again, small local businesses have suffered at the hands of local and big government. Our tax dollars never seem to stop flowing, like ice melting off a glacier. Currently Oregon ranks low in education and economic vitality, high in taxes and middle of the road in crime.

While government believes spending is the way to prosperity, Loveall is grounded, accountable and efficient. He believes government should run like a business. We need this type of thinking from here in Lane County up to the governor’s office. Loveall has signed checks on the front, and I believe that gives him an even deeper understanding of how to make a business or government viable, efficient and prosperous.

We need representatives who are willing to ask and answer the hard questions, not run from them. We need a “tip of the spear” person who will be transparent, fair and honest. Someone who doesn’t accept no and pushes through barriers with creative thinking.

We the people deserve more public safety options and officers. We deserve someone who will stand for our constitutional right to carry. We deserve an open-for-business approach with less government oversight and red tape slowing processes down.

Loveall voted against new taxes and fees, and against the costly CleanLane project that the county is scrambling to force through bad legislation to make the failed project look better to voters. He has contributed to the vitalization of downtown Springfield and even voted against a raise for himself as a county commissioner.

I want to support Loveall and dispute the witch hunt against him over hurt feelings and baseless woke claims of retaliation. “Blessings” is a word used by all races, creeds and denominations. Although someone could find origins in the Bible, it would take a lot of effort to feel offended by the word.

This is not a reason to remove an accomplished, well-regarded commissioner who brings prosperity to any project he can get behind!
