The minor league baseball team said it will continue to play at PK Park through 2027 as it continues its search for a new permanent home.

The Eugene Emeralds will continue playing home games at University of Oregon’s PK Park through at least the 2027 season, the baseball team announced Thursday, Aug. 7.

In March, the team said it had reached a “certain end” in its search for a new home in Eugene after voters in 2024 rejected a $15 million bond measure to build a new stadium at the Lane Events Center and the team also failed to secure enough funding to renovate its existing home field. PK Park, which the Emeralds share with the Oregon Ducks, does not meet the standards Major League Baseball set for minor league teams in 2021.

The team — a High-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants — said in March it would continue to play at PK Park and call Eugene home “beyond 2025.” Thursday’s announcement extends that timeline.

“We can’t wait to start planning the promotions for the 71st year of Emeralds Baseball here in Eugene,” Emeralds General Manager Matt Dompe said in a release. “While we work on a long-term facility, we look forward to keeping the fun going here in Eugene for at least the next couple of seasons.”

The Emeralds have been exploring other Oregon cities as possible new homes. The minor league team presented a proposal to relocate to Medford to the city’s mayor and council in April.

On the field, the Emeralds are dominating the Northwest League’s second-half standings in their 2025 season, with a 29-9 record. The team will look to extend its five-game winning streak Thursday evening against the Spokane Indians.

Founded in 1955, the Emeralds have won eight minor league titles. Their 2026 season is planned to begin at home Friday, April 3, against the Hillsboro Hops.
