Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Police responded to reports of gunshots being fired near the 100 block of Kremont Ave. at 1 p.m. on June 2.
     
  • A car crash with injuries was reported near Gateway Loop and Gateway Street in Springfield at noon on June 2.
     
  • A hit and run was reported near Franklin Blvd. and S A St. in Springfield at 5 p.m. on June 2.
     
  • A hit and run was reported near 3000 Gateway St. in Springfield at noon on June 2.
     
  • A report was made about a missing person near 1460 G St. in Springfield at 3 a.m. on May 22.
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • Long-term projects: Construction is happening on 36th Street between Main Street and Commercial Avenue as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Work started the week of April 27 and should finish by September 30. Local residents can still get to their homes, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures, no parking zones, and possible changes to travel routes. There may also be construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Residents will get advance notice before any closures. Construction on Aspen Street between Centennial Boulevard and Tamarack Street will start the week of June 15 as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Most of the work should be done by September 4, before school starts, with the whole project finished by October 31. Local access to homes will be maintained, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures, no parking zones, and possible changes to travel routes. Expect construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Advance notice will be given before any closures.
