Restaurant inspections

- M24 Sushi at 4425 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on Sept. 7. The restaurant scored 83 out of 100. Inspectors found that the handwashing sink was blocked by items like a cutting board and garbage can, but these were removed during inspection. The restaurant lacked proper records and invoices proving that sushi fish (tuna and salmon) were frozen to safe temperatures, which is required for safety. Additionally, sushi rice was kept at unsafe temperatures for too long without a proper time control plan. The restaurant was instructed to keep handwashing sinks accessible, maintain freezing records and invoices for sushi fish, and create a plan to monitor sushi rice temperature to ensure food safety. - Papa’s Pizza #3 at 4011 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on Sept. 7. The restaurant scored 95 out of 100. The inspector found that the refrigerator on the east side of the main pizza area was not keeping foods like pizza sauce, cooked meat, and dressings cold enough, measuring around 45°F instead of the required 41°F or below. Foods stored there for over 4 hours were thrown away. The issue was fixed during a follow-up visit when the refrigerator was repaired and adjusted to maintain the proper temperature of 41°F or below. Roadwork is affecting traffic near you
- Long-term projects: Construction is happening on 36th Street between Main Street and Commercial Avenue as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Work started the week of April 27 and should finish by September 30. Local residents can still reach their homes, but there may be temporary lane and driveway closures, no-parking zones, and changes to travel routes. There may also be construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Residents will get advance notice before any closures.
- Construction on Aspen Street between Centennial Boulevard and Tamarack Street will start the week of June 15 as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project.
