Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Dutch Bros Coffee at 4211 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on Oct. 5. The restaurant received a score of 95 out of 100. The inspector found that the dishwasher was not dispensing chlorine sanitizer properly, which is important for cleaning dishes safely. The restaurant was required to fix this immediately. During a follow-up visit, the dishwasher was confirmed to be dispensing the correct amount of chlorine sanitizer (50-100 ppm), ensuring dishes are properly sanitized. (view report)

  • Sweet Illusions at 1836 So A St., passed a county health inspection on Oct. 5 with no issues. (view report)

  • Taqueria El Trenecito at 1505 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on Oct. 5. The restaurant scored 73 out of 100 due to several issues: handwashing sinks lacked soap and paper towels but were corrected during inspection; raw foods were improperly stored above ready-to-eat items, risking contamination; some foods were uncovered; potentially hazardous foods were kept at unsafe temperatures, leading to disposal of some items; foods held over 24 hours lacked proper date marking; refrigerators lacked functioning thermometers; doors and windows were open or unprotected, allowing flies inside; at least 10 flies were observed in the kitchen; floors, walls, and ceilings were damaged or hard to clean; three refrigerators were broken; and unnecessary personal items and trash cluttered storage and restroom areas.
