Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- Coburg Pizza Company Centennial at 1710 Centennial Blvd., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on February 23. The restaurant scored 90 out of 100. Inspectors found that pizza dough was stored in plastic bags not meant for food, but the restaurant replaced them with food-safe bags. Also, dirty mop water was being dumped in the parking lot instead of the sewer, but the restaurant fixed this by ensuring all mop water is now properly disposed of through the sanitary sewer system. Both issues were corrected during a follow-up inspection. (view report)
- Wildfang’s Grill House at 1414 Mohawk Blvd., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on February 23. The restaurant scored 92 out of 100. Inspectors found raw hamburger patties stored uncovered above rolls, risking contamination, but this was fixed during the visit. Unused rodent poison was found and removed. Some food containers were unlabeled, and scoops were left in contact with food instead of having handles above it. Refrigerator gaskets were damaged, ceilings and walls in some areas were broken or not easily cleanable, and toilet doors lacked self-closing mechanisms. Acoustic ceiling tiles were used where smooth surfaces are required. Lastly, kitchen ventilation was poor, causing smoke buildup. All issues were addressed or require repair. (view report)
