Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Burrito Boy – Olympic at 1889 Olympic St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on Oct. 14. The restaurant scored 92 out of 100. The inspector found cooked foods like mole, beans, and salsa were not cooled properly and had to be discarded; proper cooling methods were reviewed with staff. Containers with toxic chemicals were unlabeled but were labeled during the inspection. Dead flies on sticky traps in the kitchen were not removed frequently enough; removal frequency must increase. The women’s restroom lacked a covered waste bin, which must be provided. Damaged floor tiles and walls need repair. Employee personal items were stored above food, risking contamination, and must be stored separately to protect food safety. (view report)
