Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- Jitterbug Java – Warehouse at 449 Q St., passed a county health inspection on November 23 with no issues. (view report)
- Jitterbug Java – Mu at 449 Q St., passed a county health inspection on November 23 with no issues. (view report)
- Taqueria Fuego Burrito at 177 14th St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on December 3. The restaurant scored 84 out of 100. The inspector found that a water hose end was not properly protected from contamination and must have a cover or protective device installed. A handwashing sink was blocked by items but was cleared during the inspection; staff were reminded it must be used only for handwashing and kept accessible. Raw chicken was stored above raw meat, risking cross-contamination, but this was corrected by properly organizing food storage. A container of toxic chemicals (chlorine) was unlabeled but was labeled clearly during the inspection. All issues were addressed before the inspection ended. (view report)
