Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Memo’s Mexican Restaurant at 737 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on December 16. The restaurant received a score of 97 out of 100. The inspector noted that no probe thermometer was available to check food temperatures, which is required to ensure food safety. The restaurant was instructed to immediately obtain and use a proper probe thermometer for checking cooked foods and holding units. A follow-up inspection within 14 days confirmed the restaurant had the required thermometer and corrected the issue. (view report)

  • Best Western Grand Manor at 971 Kruse Way, was cited for issues during a county health inspection on December 21. The restaurant scored 92 out of 100. The inspector found that dishes were washed and rinsed but not properly sanitized; the restaurant was instructed to sanitize dishes using a chlorine bleach solution and air dry them, which was corrected on site. The restaurant also lacked chlorine bleach test strips to measure sanitizer strength; the inspector provided strips and the issue was fixed. Additionally, some wall coverings in the kitchen were missing and need repair or replacement to maintain good facility conditions. (view report)
