Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region
- Long-term projects: – Construction is happening near the corners of 18th and Hilyard Street this week. Lanes may be reduced to a single lane, so expect some delays.
- From Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23, construction is taking place at Columbia Street and East 17th Avenue. This work affects parts of East 17th Avenue (from east of Agate Street to Columbia Street and from East 17th Avenue to Moss Avenue), as well as sections of Columbia Street and Columbia Alley. Construction will continue through summer 2027. Vehicle detours are set up at Agate Street, East 17th Avenue, Columbia Street, Moss Street, and East 19th Avenue. Pedestrian routes are also detoured. Bike lanes on Agate Street (west side) and Moss Street (east side) are closed and merged into shared traffic lanes. Large trucks and construction equipment will be in the area.
- From Monday, October 19 to Friday, October 23, construction is happening at 13th Avenue and Hilyard Street for a new University of Oregon student housing project. The right lane of Hilyard Street is closed between 13th and 11th Avenues. The protected bike lane is mostly open with occasional brief closures. The east sidewalk on Hilyard Street between 13th and 11th Avenues is closed, and pedestrians should use the west sidewalk between 13th and 12th Avenues. At Hilyard Street and 12th Avenue, the north-south pedestrian crossing now has a stop sign, while the east-west crossing has no stop control or signals.
