Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Long-term projects: – There is moderate construction work and paving happening on East 24th Avenue, Hilyard Street, and Alder Street. Expect some delays or disruptions in these areas. – Construction at the intersection of W 30th Avenue and Portland Street is causing moderate traffic impacts. – Hilyard Street is closed between 36th and 38th Avenue all week, except for emergency vehicles. Use West Amazon or Donald Street to travel north or south. Side streets off Hilyard, including E 39th Avenue and Dillard, are still open. Temporary ramps are available for homes that only have access from Hilyard. Construction may be quieter on Wednesday and Thursday as the road base cures before asphalt is applied on Friday. – Construction is underway at 18th Avenue and Hilyard Street to replace the signal light. The upgrade includes a new bicycle signal for westbound cyclists on 18th Avenue, improved signal timing, shorter pedestrian crossings, and new ADA-compliant curb ramps. Traffic impact is expected to be moderate.
