Good morning, Lookout Eugene-Springfield,
Late yesterday afternoon, a U.S. district judge in Eugene “tentatively” denied federal access to Eugene voter data, including addresses and driver’s license numbers. Jaime Adame explains.
Eugene could face rolling blackouts, and soon. A proposal to use a gas-powered turbine at the University of Oregon might help solve the region’s power problem during times of peak demand. But not everyone is convinced that the turbine is the right solution. Environmental reporter Ashli Blow has this story.
Michael Zhang took a look at the last three years of housing sales data in Lane County. The numbers have hardly budged. But at least one real estate agent is convinced that in 2026, the market will finally start to thaw.
Annie Aguiar has her roundup of things to do this weekend, including an ocean-themed drag show, stand-up star Nate Bargatze, and sinful song and dance.
And the Eugene School District 4J school board approved the second part of Superintendent Miriam Mickelson’s reductions at its meeting Wednesday night.
