Good morning, Lookout Eugene-Springfield,
This morning, I want to brag a little on Ashli Blow, who has owned coverage of the situation at PeaceHealth. Wednesday morning, she was the first to report on the hospital’s decision to change course and re-enter an agreement with Eugene Emergency Physicians. That’s just one of many developments she has broken during the past several months.
I got the following text from a member Wednesday morning: “The PeaceHealth story would never have played out the way it did if it hadn’t been for Lookout and Ashli’s great reporting. Thanks for all that you do.”
Reactions to the decision were plentiful and this morning Ben Botkin reports on what the governor, state lawmakers and others had to say.
This Sunday is Mother’s Day, and if you are looking for something to do to celebrate with your mom or a mom in your life, Annie Aguiar has a list of options in her weekend things to do roundup, including two different versions of “Mamma Mia!” Taylor Goebel stays on topic with a robust list of options to celebrate your top mom.
I am not sure if these are the heroes in a half shell, but as Bill Sullivan writes, turtles once threatened with extinction are thriving in Eugene’s Delta Ponds. Hopefully, they will stay away from the glowing green ooze.
Want to make sure your kids have plenty to do this summer? Get a 1Pass, and they can visit 17 destinations, including pools, a mini-golf course, a trampoline park, museums and baseball games. The passes go on sale Friday for $60.
