Our partners at the Oregon Capital Chronicle have a look at the work of the Oregon Legislature’s Democratic majority to pass an “immigration justice package.” The bills range from prohibiting federal agents from wearing face coverings to helping pay low-income immigrants’ legal fees.
Our food and dining correspondent Taylor Goebel is still new to Lane County, and what better way learn more about her beat than to eat? That’s what she’s doing, and she’s sharing what she thinks along the way. In her new feature, Down the Block, Taylor highlights one block and shares food you should try. Her first stop? Alder and 13th streets, where you can taste multiple cuisines without crossing traffic.
Springfield Economic Development Agency has plans for the Glenwood riverfront and is hosting a public meeting Thursday to talk about the project. Lillian Schrock-Clevenger has the details.

In federal building vandalism case, FBI asks Eugene police for video

Eugene Police Chief Chris Skinner said the department will work with the FBI as it investigates vandalism during the Jan. 30 protest. The federal agency also has released images and descriptions of three suspects.
