Good morning, Lookout Eugene-Springfield,

The Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team is likely not headed to the NCAA Tournament, but as Tyson Alger witnessed Wednesday at Matthew Knight Arena, the program is showing signs of life again.

An exhibit at the Maude Kerns Art Center is, as Annie Aguiar describes it, a tour of the decades-long artistic journey of six women who found camaraderie in Lane Community Collegeโ€™s art studios.

The Springfield Economic Development Agency purchased the property at 138 Main Street in 2013 for $669,000, expecting it to be a site for a downtown plaza. The plaza never materialized, and now the agency is selling the site for $630,000. Lillian Schrock-Clevenger has the details on what’s happening.

โ€œWe heard a lot of bluster and not a lot of facts.โ€ That’s what Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read said following a call with federal officials ahead of the 2026 election. Our partners at the Oregon Capital Chronicle have the story.
