Police in Eugene are asking the public to help identify a man seen June 5 swinging a knife at the downtown Eugene Public Library.

The man reportedly swung a knife and yelled at 1:10 p.m., with a female library patron nearby, police said.

When a librarian went to the second floor to investigate, no knife was seen, and the man left the library when asked, police said.

The female patron near the man did not make a police report, but video of the man began circulating on social media and was reported to police June 6, according to a Eugene police news release.

Anyone with information about the man may call police at 541-844-8023 or email ZGoodin@eugene-or.gov.
