Despite the federal government shutdown, the EPA-led cleanup of the polluted former J.H. Baxter & Co. plant will continue for the time being. But some activists worry that work at the west Eugene Superfund site could be disrupted if the shutdown stretches on. Ashli Blow reports.
A WOW Hall concert by musician/activist Carsie Blanton has been delayed, after she was detained by Israeli authorities while trying to sail through Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip. She was released a few days later. A date has not yet been set for the rescheduled Eugene show. Annie Aguiar reports.
A man who was arrested in a fatal shooting at a home on West 18th Avenue back in March was booked into jail Wednesday on a murder charge in the case. Kenneth John Alvord, 37, had previously been free on a lesser charge. Jaime Adame has the update.
