Lookout’s second candidate forum is streaming live on YouTube as I write this. Over at the WOW Hall, candidates for Eugene City Council wards 3, 4, 5 and 6 are talking about issues ranging from the city budget to Flock Safety cameras to economic development. Lookout opinion editor Elon Glucklich and our Eugene city government reporter, Grace Chinowsky, are moderating. It will be wrapping up at 6:45, but you can watch a recording later on our website.

An unidentified pedestrian was hit by a car on the Northwest Expressway about 3 a.m. today. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The sheriff’s office was asking for help identifying the man. Check Jaime Adame’s story for a description of him, and for details on contacting authorities if you have any information.

Two of the leading Republican candidates for governor — Chris Dudley and Christine Drazan — have each raised more than $2 million for their campaigns. Dudley’s biggest backer is Nike co-founder Phil Knight, who has donated $1 million. Drazan’s largest donor is Don H. Jones Jr., a businessman who has ponied up nearly half a million. A federal judge has ruled that an Oregon state law cannot force an anti-abortion advocacy group to provide health insurance that covers the cost of abortions. The Oregon Capital Chronicle has the story.
