An unidentified pedestrian on the Northwest Expressway in Eugene sustained life-threatening injuries in a 3 a.m. collision Wednesday, April 15, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said.

A Chevrolet Cobalt struck the man near North Park Avenue, the sheriff’s office said. 

The driver called for help and remained on the scene, with an initial investigation showing the pedestrian was in the road when hit, according to the sheriff’s office. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

While the man’s name was not known at the time of the crash, by Wednesday evening, the sheriff’s office said the man had been identified and that he was being treated at the hospital.
