Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues that need correction. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Track Town Pizza at 5809 A St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on Aug. 25. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. The inspector found that two containers of cooling chicken were stored with tight lids, which can slow cooling and risk food safety. The restaurant was instructed to cool food properly by using shallow pans, separating food into smaller portions, stirring in ice water, or other approved methods to ensure food cools quickly and safely. The issue was corrected during the inspection, and staff were given information on proper cooling techniques to prevent future problems. (view report)
     
  • Washburne East at 5807 A St., passed a county health inspection on Aug. 25 with no issues. (view report)
     
  • More Boba at 5810 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on Aug. 25. The restaurant scored 90 out of 100. The inspector found that the main prep refrigerator was too warm (54-56°F), risking food safety, and foods stored there over 4 hours were discarded. There was ice buildup in the freezer and the refrigerator wasn’t working properly, requiring repair or replacement. A clogged drain caused dirty water to flow into the sink, needing immediate plumbing repair. Additionally, sticky spills and debris buildup were found on the floor and vents, so cleaning must be increased and done more thoroughly, especially during low food exposure times. Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • Long-term projects: Construction is happening on 36th Street between Main Street and Commercial Avenue as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Work started the week of April 27 and is expected to finish by September 30. Local access to homes will remain open, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures, no-parking zones, and possible changes to travel routes. Residents may notice construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Advance notice will be given before any closures.
