Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Fins Drive In at 4090 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on Oct. 12. The restaurant scored 86 out of 100. Inspectors found a handwashing sink blocked by a water-filled pan, which was immediately cleared and staff were reminded to keep sinks accessible and used only for handwashing. Some sliced tomatoes and lettuce were stored at unsafe temperatures (51-54°F) but were discarded, and the refrigerator was adjusted to keep food at or below 41°F. The consumer advisory about raw or undercooked animal foods was missing the word “shellfish,” but a corrected placard including the full required wording was posted. All issues were fixed during the reinspection. (view report)
