Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Cafe Agora Springfield at 4425 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on June 10. The restaurant received a score of 97 out of 100. The inspector noted that the restaurant initially did not have a working thermometer to check food temperatures, which is required for food safety. This issue was found again during a follow-up inspection. The restaurant was instructed to get a proper thermometer that can measure both hot and cold food temperatures, including thin items like meat patties. By the second reinspection on June 11, the restaurant had corrected the problem by acquiring a functional thermometer. (view report)

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Long-term projects: Construction is happening on 36th Street between Main Street and Commercial Avenue as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Work started the week of April 27 and is expected to finish by September 30. Local access to homes will stay open, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures and some no parking zones. You may notice changes to travel routes, construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Advance notice will be given before any closures.
