Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Subway at 4270 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on January 21. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. The inspector noted that a handwashing sink was improperly used to empty a sanitizer bucket, which was corrected immediately. Dark residue was found inside soft drink nozzles, requiring more frequent cleaning. Some food workers wore jewelry not allowed during food prep. Wiping cloths were not properly stored in sanitizer. Single-use forks were stored under an unapproved area beneath a sink. The employee restroom door lacked a self-closing mechanism. An outside dumpster lid was left open. Mops were not positioned to air dry properly. Ceiling tiles were damaged, and lighting in walk-in coolers was too dim, needing repair. (view report)
