Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- Ashley’s At Main Street at 4027 Main St., passed a county health inspection on May 27 with no issues. (view report)
- Giant Burger at 3760 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on May 27. The restaurant scored 80 out of 100. Inspectors found a handwashing sink blocked by a pot of water, raw eggs stored under raw ground beef risking contamination, and missing required wording in the consumer advisory about raw animal foods. Two unlabeled chemical bottles were found but labeled during inspection. Equipment issues included broken refrigerator gaskets, a slow-draining sink, no proper mop sink (mop water was dumped in the toilet), damaged floors and cupboards, cardboard on kitchen shelves, and unshielded light bulbs in food areas. Most issues were corrected during the inspection, but some repairs and advisory updates are still needed. (view report)
