Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- Springfield Vfw Post 3965 at 5344 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on February 8. The restaurant scored 94 out of 100. The inspector found no handwashing sink near the frozen pizza prep area, which was corrected by moving pizza prep to the main kitchen with sinks. Toxic chemical containers in the bar were unlabeled but were labeled during inspection. Some utensils had handles touching food and must be stored properly. Refrigerator door gaskets were damaged and need repair. Food packages were stored under a sink drain, which is not allowed. Grease and debris buildup were noted on the hood, floors, and ceiling, requiring more frequent cleaning. Floors, walls, and ceilings in some areas were unfinished or damaged and need repair. An unprotected light bulb in the refrigerator must be shielded. (view report)
