Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Burrito Amigos #42 at 201 42nd St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on July 26. The restaurant scored 76 out of 100 due to several issues: no designated person in charge during the inspection, employees not washing hands properly, a handwashing sink blocked by garbage cans, residue on the ice machine, a refrigerator not keeping food cold enough, incorrect wording on the menu’s consumer advisory about raw foods, utensils stored before fully drying, use of non-food-safe containers for dried peppers, uncovered outdoor dumpsters, and damaged walls in the kitchen. All critical issues were corrected during the inspection or require immediate action to ensure food safety and proper facility maintenance. (view report)

  • Toxic Burger at 4175 Main St., passed a county health inspection on July 26 with no issues. (view report)

Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • Long-term projects: Construction is happening on 36th Street between Main Street and Commercial Avenue as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Work started the week of April 27 and is expected to finish by September 30. Local residents can still get to their homes, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures, and some areas will have no parking. Drivers may notice changes to normal routes, construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment in the area. Advance notice will be given before any closures.
