Community crime report

  • Police served a warrant and made an arrest near 4075 Franklin Blvd., Eug at 10 a.m. on Oct. 6.

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Long-term projects: – Adams Street is partially closed between W 6th Avenue and W 5th Avenue on the west side, and from W 5th Alley north on the east side. W 5th Alley is closed between Monroe Street and Adams Street. Some sidewalks are closed, so pedestrians should use the north side of W 5th Avenue at Monroe Street. The eastbound bike lane on W 5th Avenue near Adams Street is closed; bicyclists should detour using Adams Street, W 4th Avenue, Monroe Street, and back to W 5th Avenue.
  • Construction is happening near the corners of 18th and Hilyard Street this week. Lanes may be reduced to one lane, so expect moderate delays.
  • Nighttime construction on Broadway continues this week from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews are working on the south side of Broadway between Ferry Lane and Patterson, at the northwest corner of Ferry Lane and Broadway, and on pipe repairs at the northwest corner of Hilyard and Broadway and across from Alder Alley. Patterson Street is closed to trucks, buses, and other large vehicles at Broadway; these vehicles should use Alder Street to detour.
  • On Patterson Street between E 18th Ave and E 24th Ave, crews are finishing up minor work this week. New striping and signs are in place, and crews are removing most traffic control, but some barricades remain. Traffic disruptions will be minimal.
  • From Monday through Friday this week, construction on Willamette Avenue for a new housing project will cause moderate traffic impacts. On 11th Avenue, through and left-turn traffic will share one lane, while buses, bikes, and right turns will share another. The parking lane on Willamette Street between 11th Avenue and E10th Alley is closed. Some sidewalks are closed, but detours are available. All nearby businesses remain open.
