Authorities recovered a body Friday, Sept. 25, in the McKenzie River near the Armitage Park boat launch.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office and Eugene Springfield Fire responded at about 2 p.m. to an area downstream of the boat launch. Armitage Park is north of Eugene and south of Coburg.

Deputies in a jet boat pulled the lifeless person from the river with help from fire personnel, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Authorities did not release any other details about the person found.

The Lane County medical examiner’s office is investigating.
