A woman told Eugene police a man she encountered at Alton Baker Park sexually assaulted her Thursday, Sept. 24.

Officers responded at 5:41 p.m. Thursday to the woman’s report, and the department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating, police said in a news release Friday.

While at the dog park, she met the man and walked with him a short distance, the woman told police.

The man then sexually assaulted her before leaving the area, the woman told police. 

Police released a description of the person of interest: a white male, about 6 feet tall and weighing perhaps 230 pounds.

Described as muscular, the man wore a green short-sleeved shirt with a Hawaiian floral print, blue jeans and teal Adidas shoes with orange stripes, according to the description released by police.
