A truck carrying large scrap metal parts tipped over on the Interstate 105 on-ramp at Seventh Avenue Thursday afternoon, forcing the temporary closure of the on-ramp and clogging traffic throughout downtown Eugene.

The metal parts spilled onto Washington Street on the other side of the barrier. The Oregon Department of Transportation was notified of the crash at about 3:20 p.m. Thursday.

ODOT said the on-ramp will be closed for two to three hours. Crews were working to clean up the site during rush hour.

A Eugene Police Department spokesperson said that the driver was not impaired, and was driving at 10 mph. No one was injured, officials said.
