The Awbrey Park Wildflower Celebration is set for May 3, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the park, 4291 River Rd. in Eugene.
This marks the event’s 14th year, and it has become an annual tradition for nature enthusiasts and families in the region. This year will include a guided nature walk, bird watching, live music, a treasure hunt, rock painting, and kids’ games. Food trucks will also be available.
Several organizations, including Lane Master Gardener’s Mobile Plant Clinic and Lane County Audubon, will be on hand to share information. Gary Haliski, co-adopter of Awbrey Park, emphasized the event’s focus on appreciating the diversity of wildflowers and fostering community connections.
The celebration, sponsored by the City of Eugene’s Parks and Open Space, the Santa Clara Community Association, and The Friends of Awbrey Park, is free and open to the public.
