The Lane County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased pedestrian as Justin Dewayne Jones, 49.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying a vehicle following a hit-and-run outside Creswell left one pedestrian dead, according to a Saturday, Oct. 10, news alert.

Sheriff deputies and first responders with South Lane County Fire & Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian crash on River Drive near East Cloverdale Road at about 8:27 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. The involved vehicle reportedly fled the scene after striking the pedestrian.

The sheriff’s office identified the deceased pedestrian as Justin Dewayne Jones, 49. 

Major crash investigators from the sheriff’s office assisted with the investigation. The involved vehicle may be a gray or silver hatchback-style car or small SUV. The vehicle may have light damage to the front and/or driver’s side, according to the news alert.

The sheriff’s office is asking the public to contact 541-682-4150 with information about the case.
