A couple from Eugene have been named in a criminal complaint alleging sex trafficking of children, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Anthony D’Montrez Crawford, 29, is accused of inducing or coercing an individual under 18 to engage in prostitution, according to a court document filed Aug. 27 in U.S. District Court in Eugene.
A news release Thursday, Sept. 4, from the U.S. attorney’s office described Crawford as forcing people to engage in prostitution in the Eugene and Springfield area, as well as using rental cars to drive victims to other cities, including Portland, to engage in prostitution. He’s also alleged to have collected money from the victims “through intimidation, threats of violence, and actual violence.”
Kaytlynn Ann Crawford, also known as Kaytlynn Ann Alderman, 27, is accused of renting cars for Crawford, allowing hotel bills to be paid with a bank card in her name, and allowing payments from customers to go through a CashApp account in her name.
An FBI investigation spanned state lines, with a minor victim found in Seattle who was forced to engage in prostitution, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. The same victim also engaged in prostitution in the Eugene-Springfield area, as well as Portland, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Anthony Crawford has been ordered detained following an initial court appearance on Thursday, while Kaytlynn Crawford has been released pending further court proceedings.
