At its Friday, July 31 meeting, the City Club of Eugene will hear about programs and services provided by Senior & Disability Services, a Lane County agency that helps older adults live independently in their own homes or in the community setting of their choice.

The meeting begins at noon. For this meeting only, the club is gathering in a different location, the Mary Spilde Downtown Campus of Lane Community College, 101 W. 10th Ave., across from the Eugene Public Library. 

Club meetings are open to the public and free to attend.

Senior & Disabilities Services is a division of the Lane Council of Governments and is the designated Area Agency on Aging for Lane County. Friday’s meeting will feature two staffers from the agency:

Melisa Andrion is the agency’s community outreach and volunteer coordinator. She has worked for Senior & Disability Services since 2016.

Maddy Davis is the lead adult and protective services specialist for Senior & Disability Services, where she has worked since 2023. 

The presenters will describe how to access programs and services such as Medicaid, the Oregon Health Plan, long-term care, senior nutrition programs and volunteer opportunities. Attendees will receive a copy of the Lane Senior Guide, a resource for senior and disability services with over 600 entries.

The meeting will be livestreamed and will be available on the City Club of Eugene’s YouTube channel. Club meetings are rebroadcast Mondays at 7 p.m. on KLCC, 89.7 FM, and later as an episode on the club’s podcast. 

The City Club of Eugene explores significant local, state, and national issues and helps form new approaches and solutions to problems. Friday’s program is the last club meeting until September.
