Quick Take:
Mixed activity in Eugene's business scene with The Davis potentially up for lease, and Sam Bond’s remains on the market. Market of Choice now offers a supplement line. And a Bend chef reimagines her popular supper club.
There’s still time to purchase tickets for the Luscious Supper Club in Bend, which will celebrate central Oregon’s culinary scene, wine and farmers.
Rose’s Luscious Supper Club creates dinner event at Mount Bachelor

Rose Archer, the chef behind Bend’s continuously sold-out Luscious Supper Club, is scaling up her intimate dining experience into a 500-seat festival called Lucious Bend Food + Wine Experience at Mount Bachelor, featuring 10 local chefs, 10 farmers, and 10 wineries.
Archer began transforming her living room into a monthly three-day popup restaurant in 2022. She began seating 20 strangers around her dinner table for elaborate multicourse meals. It was a side hustle for a single mother, but it quickly became a phenomenon, selling out every dinner through word-of-mouth.
The idea stemmed from her time cooking under renowned Italian chef Massimo Bottura — who was so innovative that many Italians refused to eat at his restaurant — in her 20s, which shaped her own creative approach to food. Corn broth-filled tortellini garnished with popcorn is one example.
After nearly three years of sold-out dinners, the supper club had become a well-oiled machine, and Archer craved a new challenge.
“I’m a person that always wants to creatively push myself and grow and learn and expand,” she said.
The festival will also celebrate central Oregon’s culinary and farming culture, something Archer says hasn’t been done before in Bend.
Each participating chef will partner with a local organic farmer to create dishes, with farmers present to be acknowledged alongside the chefs. “I’m really excited to not have it just be the Rose show,” Archer said. “This event is about these 10 chefs and these 10 farmers and these 10 wineries, who all are doing their own beautiful art form.”
Lucious Bend will be held at 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at Mount Bachelor Ski Resort, 13000 SW Century Drive, in Bend. General admission tickets are $250, with VIP tickets for an early entry for more time with the winemakers at 4 p.m. for $350.

Is The Davis restaurant poised for changes?
Office spaces in the Washburne Building at 72 W. Broadway in Eugene have been advertised for lease for a while. Now, a listing on Loopnet, an online marketplace for commercial real estate, indicates changes could be in store for The Davis, which opened in 2007 on the ground floor of the building.
The Loopnet listing includes six available spaces, from the first floor restaurant tenant to five second-floor office spaces. The listing describes the space as a “turnkey restaurant space prominently located in vibrant downtown Eugene” in “excellent condition” and available “now.” The space is listed as 4,796 square feet with a rental rate set at $15 per square foot per year, or $5,995 per month.
The Davis’ website says they will be closed Sept. 1-7 for renovations. An employee who declined to give their name told Lookout that the September closure would be used to implement some needed renovations. The restaurant typically closes over Labor Day, so they are taking advantage of the planned closure to get work done. This employee also said they were not aware that the restaurant was listed as being for lease, and that the renovations were not connected to any potential leasing of the restaurant.
Sam Bond’s still for sale
Sam Bond’s Garage, a beloved venue, bar and restaurant, drew much attention when it announced in a November 2024 social media post (since deleted) that it was for sale and would not be open past the end of that year. Public outcry was swift, and the owners announced in December 2024 that they would not close after all.
In May, Sam Bond’s was again listed for sale for $1 million. As of now, it hasn’t sold, and the most recent update shows the sale price reduced to $850,000 for the 1,943-square-foot building at 407 Blair Blvd. The building was built in 1918 and formerly housed an auto mechanic shop. Sam Bond’s first opened in the space in 1995.
