Quick Take:

Now that blueberry season has arrived, berry pickers can find plump blues at several U-pick blueberry farms in Lane County.

This story has been updated to include additional information.

One of summer’s sweetest treasures has got to be berries. Blueberries are ripening across local farms, and there’s nothing quite like the burst of flavor from a perfectly ripe blueberry picked straight from the bush.

Blueberries are ripe now and will continue ripening through July and even into August. Here’s where to go in the Eugene area and beyond to get your own.

Adkins Blueberry Farm

Adkins Blueberry Farm opened its season June 22. U-pick blueberry prices are $3.00 per pound and they should have blueberries for about six weeks. The farm is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Blueberry Patch Farm

U-pick price is $2.50 a pound. Owner Chuck North said he doesn’t want to pay more for things so he doesn’t want to charge more for things, so he’s still offering 2023 prices. The team also picks for people who don’t want to or can’t pick, and those blueberries are $4.50 a pound. They also give a price break of $2.25 on 10 pounds or more, and can offer this-year’s frozen blueberries for $50 a box. Just call or text a couple of days ahead of time to arrange to have them picked. North has about 7,000 blueberry plants on 8 acres and says the farm’s eight different blueberries ripen throughout July into August and sometimes through Labor Day. North uses no herbicides or pesticides on his plants but is not certified organic.

Blueberry Patch Farm hosts an art festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., July 17-19, with about 15 artists, live bluegrass music and blueberry food.
