Rob Mullens is good. But he’s not that fast, folks.
Yes, Oregon’s athletic director probably listened Tuesday when Dana Altman spent the backend of his post-NIT press conference criticizing the fan base/athletic department, but no, Mullens didn’t suddenly create a new job out of thin air and post it already in response.
Multiple outlets reported as such Friday afternoon. However, the job was posted on March 17 and I’ve been told the listing is filling the role of someone who left last year.
It makes for a compelling story — the athletic director making direct moves after the impassioned plea of a coach — but it’s not quite there.
That doesn’t mean filling the position won’t help — the job description calls for someone who can bring “new and fresh elements to enhance fan experience.”
Any suggestions?
Have a good weekend, all.
